Account Success Manager  

Remote Contract, West Coast Hours

12 Month Contract with Possibility of Full Time Conversion


 

Nine Sky Consulting, LLC is a small startup consulting firm focused on public health and social impact. We are seeking empathetic, detail-oriented, puzzle-loving individuals to help us build an account success program for our client. As the account success manager, you will be the primary point of contact for grant recipients and act as their advocate as they navigate the complex legal requirements of fund approval and disbursement. You will ultimately be their partner in helping to solve one of the most complex social challenges in California.

 

The role entails working closely with a portfolio of grant recipients, helping them understand and navigate grant requirements with the support of subject matter experts. You will build project plans to complete requirements, identify risks, and creatively and collaboratively help the grantee and client navigate blockers to fund disbursement. You will help grantees feel comfortable and confident in a process that would otherwise feel confusing and frustrating. Where needed, you will also escalate challenges to leadership with recommendations for successful resolution. Because this team is new, you’ll also be on the ground floor for defining and improving processes. 

 

The successful candidate will enjoy solving puzzles for their grant recipients, are not afraid to get into the fine details, comfortably admit when they don’t know information, and ask for help. They will also thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-focused environment. Success in this role will be measured by grantee fund disbursement and grantee satisfaction.

Responsibilities

 

  • Relationship Management: Develop and nurture strong relationships with 40+ awardees, acting as their primary point of contact from award to routine payments. You will be working with grantees daily by phone, email, messaging, and, where applicable, in-person.

  • Client Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new awardees, ensuring they have the tools and resources to understand and execute the expectations and responsibilities of the award.

  • Project Management: Assist and collaborate with other team members in guiding clients through the award and project life cycle. As part of project management you will be responsible for daily tracking and updates to other team members via the CRM system. 

  • Account Support: Provide expert guidance and support to awardees, addressing their concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring their project is successful.

  • Issue Resolution: Identify and address challenges and roadblocks, working closely with internal and external teams to ensure timely and effective solutions. Identify and report potential project risks, promptly escalating appropriately.

  • Performance Monitoring: Collaborate with awardees to understand their project progress. Collaborate with internal team members to report upcoming project milestones to ensure that compliance requirements are met by awardees in a timely manner.

  • Feedback and Communication: Collect and relay awardees feedback on our processes to drive improvements and enhancements. 

  • Team Support: Support fellow team members as needed.

  • Process Optimization: Further support the team by sharing learnings, helping to define internal processes and communications, and building and evaluating templates.



 

Required Skills

  • Maintain documentation within the CRM and other systems


 

Required Background

 

  • BA/BS degree or a minimum of 5 years in the legal, financial, real estate/construction, or account management field.

  • Proven 3 years of managing a portfolio of accounts or a similar role.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Basic understanding of project management

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with awardees and internal subject matter experts.

  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft suite of tools, and SharePoint.

  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, positive client relationships, as well as manage client expectations and maintain client satisfaction.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to confront unexpected problems quickly and effectively.
